The artist's letter | our alter egos:
Last Sunday, 3rd quarantine Sunday in Madrid, I received an email.
It brought me a big smile. In a few words, it came from some very nice people that were challenging me to create a WOW project.
I must admit that I'm pretty worried these days, like almost everyone. I guess.
I'm feeling like riding an emotional rollercoaster. Some days tranquile, others anxious and others sad and joyful depending on the time (and the amount of sun) of the day.
That's why, once I read the last words of that email, I stood up with my heart full of energy, walked to my table and got my paints out.
I felt inspired to create a rough, improvised piece of art. It didn't have to be perfect. A salad mix between different techniques, formats and quarantine restrictions. Skin art and nature vs. my phone camera added to my little technique with video editing.
All supported by a beautiful song by my dear Londoner, Charlie Gladwell, once given to me as a present out of improvisation.
Inspired by the conditions that are surrounding us these spring days, sun, rain and snow; a complex historical moment: challenging, needed of improvisation and empathy; sad, frightening, yet full of opportunities for change.
Finally nature is finding some space to rebalance.
And humanity is forced to work together
Thank you my friends for inspiring this project, I hope that it brings you light and maybe,... some time to revisit your alter egos.
